Where we are...Where we're headed...

I suppose every blog has to start somewhere, and right in the thick of things is where we begin...

Trevor and I are literally days away from making the momentous decision of where we will complete his residency--a decision that has encompassed our minds and our hearts for quite some time. We're at a crossroads, about to embark on a journey that inevitably leads to more questions than answers, but we remain steadfast.

Sure of our Lord. Sure of His plans. Sure of each other.

Trevor and I dated for a little over three years before he slipped an exceptionally delicious diamond on my left hand and asked me to share his life with him. I drove to work the following week and a thousand miniature prisms of light danced across my dashboard. I was happy and secure in the big-picture plan: I would be his wife; we would create a life comprised of equal parts of each other.

Fast forward nearly two years and you'll find us here. Folding clothes. Feeding the special needs cat. Watering the plants. Eating leftovers for dinner. Settling in to watch Thursday night television. Preparing to graduate from medical school. Steeling ourselves to leave the state we've both never left. Anxiously, eagerly, hopefully, prayerfully awaiting the next step.
